FoodPackLab Collaborating Cluster: Welcome VIFU!

We are happy to officially present one of the three chosen collaborating partners for FoodPackLab: The Danish Knowledge Centre for Food Innovation, called VIFU.

Focusing on food, food development and food innovation, VIFU is an ideal collaborating partner for the project. Within this line of business, they help to create growth and development by forming unconventional alliances and combining knowledge from research with experience from the food industry and thereby achieve results that everyone can benefit from. Therefore, FoodPackLab’s cross-sectoral approach between the food, packaging and photonics industry matches perfectly.

VIFU brings together more than 200 committed food industry enterprises from Denmark and its mission and vision is to create growth and support SME’s innovative development base don knowledge, through the establishment of networks across industries, research and educational institutions as well as through public and private collaboration. It offers the access to the latest research and innovation expertise in Danish Knowledge Institutions.

VIFU aims to function as the unifying and coordinating factor for producers, companies and institutions within and around the food sector and to be the coordinating unit that provides overview and knowledge about relevant partners for all parties in the food sector. All in all. it contributes to ensure that the developed systemic model to build innovative skills meets the industry’s acquirements.

Thanks to its efforts on increasing the collaboration with other food related development initiatives as well as the collaboration with higher education and research units for the purpose of attracting knowledge, VIFU is creating a knowledge centre that has national recognition as well as international relations and it is able to support and facilitate existing and emerging sub clusters all over Denmark.

VIFU’s main main focus points are:

1. National Circular Economy Hub

2. Sustainable packing

3. Food Waste
